3 Beaches in the region looking for Blue Flag certification

The Blue Flag award is a prize awarded to beaches whose standards on water quality, safety, the provision of general services and environmental management are excellent. On Thursday, May 17, 2017, a group of Puerto Vallarta government officials held a meeting to discuss strategies for obtaining three additional local beaches (Amapas and both Conchas Chinas beaches) certified by the Global Blue Flag.

The local government has all of the above organized at some level. The critical need at this time is to raise funds to begin the certification process. The cost of the registration process for each beach is approximately $ 150,000 MN or $ 8,200 USD, so officials are seeking help from homeowners living on these beaches, along with developers, real estate agents, rental agents and anyone Who lives in Puerto Vallarta and is concerned about the city and its beaches.
